Alternatives to MLM or Network Marketing

alternatives to MLMLooking for alternatives to MLM Network marketing? Multi level marketing is many people’s first (and often last) experience of building a home-based business. The starting point with this business model often involves trying to recruit friends and family. This can feel uncomfortable in the first place and potentially damaging if things go wrong. Nothing worse than mixing friendship with business as the wise saying goes.

I can talk from experience on this subject as I’ve been there myself. I’ve also been briefly involved with businesses where you are encouraged to go through your phone address book to try and recruit people to a business. It’s a very dated way of trying to grow a business. Chasing people, cold calling, trying to convince – it’s not good. Better Alternatives to MLM do exist however.

Aside from running the risk of becoming a Johnny no mates, Network marketing or multi level marketing is also not a good earner for most of the people that do it. Somewhere in the region of 97% of all network marketers make less than $50 per month. Why?

Better Business Alternatives to MLM

Well to go back to the first point I made: How many friends and family members does the average person have? Certainly not enough to build a big enough team to make it work. With multi level marketing your success depends on your team members also growing a team. This means that you can spend as much time if not more helping, encouraging and motivating your “downline” as you do recruiting new members.

You need to go several levels deep and lend support to people your team recruit. It’s basically an exercise in tail chasing. Even if you are successful at building your team, your team members may not be and that’s the nub of the problem.

Undoubtedly there are plenty of people who have made fortunes selling pills. Potions and programmes in this old school way. Doing House parties, hotel meetings, cold calling, 3 way sales calls appeals to a few people but in this day and age it’s a very slow and old fashioned way to build a business.

If you join the huge team of one of those rare people who has been successful with MLM who do you think is making all the money?

Alternatives to MLM – The Expert View

It’s 2014 as I write this and there are now far better alternatives to MLM for building a home-based business using the Internet. The web has developed in recent years to the stage where almost anyone can do this. With the right training and by leveraging the right systems, an Internet business can generate income 24/7 whether you are working on it or not. As I write this, a sale has just dropped into my inbox for example: I’m in a café enjoying a nice latte.

An online marketing business is not any kind of get rich set up. It takes hard work, consistent action and time – like any business, but as an alternative to MLM network marketing it’s a walk in the park. It’s actually a no brainer to anyone who is serious about building a business in 2014 and beyond.

Compared to your MLM starting point – a list of friends and family – the Internet offers a potential client base of millions if not billions. You reach them by learning the skills to do so, not by inviting them to a hotel meeting or by phoning them.
